Slovak Republic Scholarship 2022| Funding:
Slovak Republic scholarships covering living costs for:
Students studying at universities in Slovakia in order to undertake a study stay (1 — 2 semesters or 1 — 3 trimesters) outside Slovakia during their master‘s studies, or a research/artistic stay (3 — 6 months) closely related to the completion of applicant‘s master thesis;
PhD students studying at universities (including external education institutions, e.g. Slovak Academy of Sciences) in Slovakia in order to undertake a study and/or research/artistic stay (1 — 10 months) outside Slovakia during their PhD studies.
Postdoctoral researchers working at universities and research organizations in Slovakia in order to undertake a research stay (3 — 6 months) outside Slovakia. The amount of the scholarship is set for every country separately. The scholarship shall cover average living costs in the respective country during the stay. When setting the amount of the scholarship, only living costs are taken into consideration; it does not cover other costs, e.g. tuition fee.

TWO-YEAR STUDY PROGRAMME

Fully funded four-year PhD programme in Stem Cell and Regenerative Medicine at The University of Edinburgh
This 4-year PhD programme aspires to educate the next generation of leaders and influencers in regenerative medicine. Regenerative medicine aims to discover novel strategies to treat disease by replacing or regenerating damaged cells. The programme, based at the Institute for Regeneration and Repair (IRR), will deliver a broad range of cross-disciplinary training to equip graduates with the skills to drive the potential of regenerative medicine into advancements in human health.
Students will receive training from world-renowned experts in stem cell research, tissue repair and regenerative medicine. The programme will be embedded within IRR’s Postgraduate Training Framework. Programme Details:
Year one: Foundation training and research rotation projects
Students will undertake laboratory skills training and will attend seminars and journal clubs. They will receive training in good research practice, scientific reasoning, research ethics and the critical assessment of research papers. Students will carry out two 12-week research projects and disseminate their findings through written and oral presentations.
Years two to four: PhD research project
After the rotation projects, students will select their PhD topic and design a detailed research proposal under guidance of their supervisor. Projects will span the breadth of research areas at IRR, ranging from fundamental science to clinical translation projects.
Students will receive training and support in state-of-the-art research facilities. Our students will become well-rounded graduates, skilled in working across various disciplines underpinning stem cell and regenerative medicine and equipped to take on challenging roles within academic, healthcare or industrial environments.

Only candidates nominated by an academic mentor at one of these higher education institutions will be considered.Art scholarships are open to art students wishing to pursue an initial master’s degree in Switzerland.Art scholarships are awarded for study at any Swiss conservatory or university of the arts. This scholarship is available to students from a limited number of countries only.
